Robotics at RSISE investigates in the area of dynamical, real-world
scenarios for many years - sometimes also referred to as 'high energy
robotics'. Multiple robots need to communicate and coordinate effectively.
Depending on the place of operation (underwater, land, or air) the
morphologies and means of communication in fast moving scenes are
different. Actuation and sensing always need to be in close connection to
the task and specific environment. In short: this group is involved in a
multitude of approaches centred around robotics in the real world.

The systems and control group has had a high international profile since it was started in 1982. The topics currently considered are: adaptive control, network control, nonlinear controller design, optimal control, robust control, stochastic control and their applications. The group collaborates with other groups inside and outside ANU.

The Computer Vision Group at RSISE ANU is one of the leading international groups for multiple-view computer vision research. The topics currently investigated include: multi-view geometry, 3D reconstruction, statistical machine learning, object recognition and scene understanding, smart cars navigation and medical image analysis.

In Applied Signal Processing we focus on developing signal processing methods to address physically inspired or physically motivated problems arising in real applications, primarily in wireless communications and audio. The group's research ranges from the development of fundamental limits, to implementation issues and experimental investigations.
